<sup>Exhausted and wary, she could feel their steady advance. She had isolated and charged one of the group, pinning the vile beast to the cold ground. Before she could let her claws rip through the thing's throat in her bindless fury she noticed a peculiar accessory.. Her necklace.

Time suddenly slowed.
The gnashing maw of the beast slowly turned into a warm smile. The thing's grunting and growling warped into the adoring day-dream chatter. It was her.
Without a thought, Vreyin felt her burning cheeks streak with wet. Her strong morals and discipline snapping her back to attention, reminding her that her best friend was dead, that this thing was no longer her. Clamping her jaws around the beast's throat, she pooled forth her remaining energy until her entire body gave forth a white light.
She whispered.

"I'll miss you."</sup>

Tried for one of those little story excerpts since... well it's kinda befitting of avian pictures and such. :0
I finished this ref about a month ago and I was supposed to wait for a few others to finish their refs so we could spam inboxes everywhere with avians, but my patience is nada these days. xD;

Ty went out of her way to draw Vrey's human form, so that's the human standing next to her.
