Awakening - Speed Paint

^{I'm going to get a few 'omg this looks like Avatar!' comments, so please just keep them to yourselves if you happen to read this. Avatar doesn't own tropical rain forests or dense foliage. Or sunsets. Or large trees. Or flowers. Or the RGB scale. Etc. ;>}

Another dream scape I had the other night, and managed to paint last night, but decided against posting it until today. You know, the most memorable dreams I have are of sunsets, so this is of no surprise to me that this speed paint depicts one.

The giant tree in the background is "Mahonga" -- the 'giant crawler' in which Sardi makes her true home. That's where most of her day to day activities take place (in and around the tree). Crawlers are generally large trees that tap into the aether wells of the planet's core - giving the plant unnatural characteristics (gigantism, area around the plant more fertile and rich than other areas, even the ability to physically move the root systems -- hence the name 'crawler' although massive crawlers like Mahonga have since lost that particular ability due to the immense size it has taken).
